Crypto reached a whole new level of absurdity these days, as some big exchanges and cryptolender got brankrupted lately, due to the economic environment (see more about my month in crypto here). Translated - cryptocurrencies are still going down. Other than that, I got a bonus, or better call it 'bribe' from government, in order to come with the economical crisis (In theory they gave us 10% as inflation rised above 27%, so we are still on the losing side of the battle). Some royalties out of nowhere and some profit playing my blockchain games. Other than that, a quiet month, although I went on a spending spree as I needed to buy some new trousers, tops and shoes, plus, I finished everybody Christmas gifts early, as I had a week off. For the next year, I need to redirect some of the profits from crypto towards the bank account, but my numbers are only showing the liquidity, a lot more is stuck in different blockchain games, and if I do sell those, I estimate anything between 40K and 80K. Still, there is some growth potential in there, but I will take some profits slowly over the next few months, maybe all the next year. Trying some crazy moves to reach my FIRE amount all at once, if possible. But I do not see it happening until the market recovers.

Extra: I will start to drop some small amounts every month into my shares, which right now are a shameful £1800 in total. Long way until the expected 200K.

Another 3 eventful months, and meanwhile I was quite busy, organizing a church wedding back home in Romania, and I cannot really complain, as the guest there are giving little cash gifts, and after I paid all the expenses, I still had something like £10 left in my pocket (around $5000 spend overall). But this time was not as bad as first time, when we did the wedding in UK with the register, as in September 2021 we spend close to $13000. We still used the same dress and same groom suit, and shoes and all that stuff. Same rings too. Coclusion: weddings are expensive, even when you try to be a minimalistic obsessed clown. Thanks God you do it only once (or twice in my case) in your life.

Do not neglect your health, and remember that it is better to prevent than to treat. I did spent something like $3000 on my oral health, doing a complete check-out/treatment/everything that was needed and spending some inordinate amount of time with the dentist. Got all my widsom teeth out, in order to prevent future problems too, a bit radical, but I hope I will benefit from this in the far away future.

Other than that, work is work, going ok for now, still need to wear the mask on the interactions with clients, so meh! Royalties from my Amazon books are now almost inexistent, and crypto is nowhere like the beginning of the year, but still brings some hundreds pounds. I got a £50 check and some £9 payment from the survey websites, as I do them in my free time, on the train or while watching TV.

Other than that, will be a quiet year. Oh yeah, I started a new savings account with Santander, this is some one-off occasion where I can save up to £200 monthly for one year for 2.5%, and as I had some money in the bank, I will transfer 200 every month in order to get 27.50 extra after one year.

See you next time,
George.

I am back, and I am a bit of a mess lately, with all this insane inflation and some major expenses. I am getting ready for the second part of the wedding, this time in Romania, and I will use some on my saving from the Romanian account towards the expenses (around £3000). I have also a honeymoon trip scheduled right after the main event. Looking back to the latest 2-3 years, before Covid, I have not much savings as before, but the monthly inflows are twice as much as before Covid (2019). I am now focused on main job and my second crypto-job, paid in cryptocurrency, but those pesky crypto are on all-time low at the moment, after they lost roughly 80% of their 2021 value. I do not worry about that, as they will go back eventually, in few years. I am still good, with a $59K portfolio out of my initial 8.4K investment. Other than that, I am looking at some investment idea or even a side hustle, but the economical situation makes almost everything quite risk. Another solution will be just to accumulate cash and do not give a damn on inflation, but this one hurts. The plan B is to get enough cash to buy a property paying it in full, with no mortgage, but this may take few years to achieve (7 years on my estimate).

Glad to write once more in here, hope you all are alright in this unsafe times.
George

Fist of all, I was slacking a bit, but not too much, so I decided to update my monthly report once more. Even if I missed January, the things looks good, there is one scary minus 64K from the total portfolio, but it is all related to the crypto portfolio, who was decreasing massivelly lately. Anyway, given the fact that I have only £8430 to recover from my initial investment. Other than that, was a normal month, with some extra pay from Christmas, and not so many expenses, as I still recover after the September wedding (the UK one, as I still get ready for round 2 in Romania). I am thinking about some nice holiday this year, as a honey moon of some sorts, and basically I cannot decide as I can go anywhere, at least in theory (except Greenland, I cannot afford Greenland yet, as a trip there will easilly go over twelve thousand pounds). And I discovered Travala, so I hope I can use cryptocurrencies to book it, to save some cash from the bank. I am trying to get some profits from there into the bank, but I need to be careful to not go over my free allowange for capital tax (according to HM Revenues ''the tax-free allowance for capital gains tax is £12,300''). And I am moving slowly online, as most of my writing and blockchain gaming is feeling like a second job sometimes, just three times better in terms of profits.
